Meet Todd

I grew up in Anderson, IN. It used to be a GM factory town. The majority of my family worked in the factories. In the '90s, they started shutting down the factories to move production out of the country thanks to NAFTA. The city had been supported by the strong union presence which helped the whole economy. When I visit now, it is a shell of what it once was. I wish this was an isolated case, but it is the reality for a lot of the country.

In 1998, I decided to join the Navy. I qualified for the nuclear program and started my journey in Orlando for A-School, then off to Charleston for Power School, and finally Ballston Spa NY to qualify as a reactor operator at prototype. I then went on to serve aboard the USS Topeka, USS Pasadena, USS Ohio, and finally the USS Tennessee. I retired in 2018 from NRMD Kings Bay.

I first moved to Fernandina Beach in 2014. I had aspirations to move when I retired, but the area grew on me. I absolutely love it here. I started as a realtor just before my retirement to see if it was a viable 'retirement job'. Nothing makes me feel better than helping a younger generation buy their first home.

Over the last several years, that has become further and further out of reach for our younger generations. We've supported a system that has eroded the middle class nearly out of existence. This has been exacerbated by high inflation, stagnant minimum wage, soaring healthcare costs, and a government that can print seemingly endless money for wars while leaving us with the bill. Both parties are to blame and Red vs. Blue 'Lesser of Two Evils' politics over four decades have gotten us here.

I feel like my service to the country is not done. I feel like we have a unique opportunity in 2024 to send a message: 'enough is enough'. We deserve to be represented. We deserve to have our voices heard over the money that is buying politicians on both sides. We can redefine Public Service. Join me in my campaign.
